Canon Oceania is teaming up with leading food rescue charity, OzHarvest to help raise funds for the community, with a Community CookOff event on May 22.
Team Canon will join top chefs at Sydney restaurant ARIA, creating a gourmet dinner for guests from charities that receive OzHarvest food.
“Complimenting OzHarvest’s mission of sharing food with dignity and respect to those in need has made this partnership and community initiative a natural fit,” Canon Oceania managing director, Kotaro Fukushima said.
“We feel privileged to be able to support OzHarvest through this year’s Community CookOff, raising vital funds and bringing local communities together.”
OzHarvest founder and CEO, Ronni Kahn said, “More people than ever need our help, the charities we support cannot meet the consistently high level of demand and we still have 600 charities on our waiting list for food.
“The Community CookOff brings so many communities together to connect over great food at the same time as raising valuable funds to help keep our wheels turning. If you’re looking for a way to re-engage your team with purpose and fun, this is it.”
Canon Oceania’s fundraising goal is $40,000, contributing towards OzHarvest’s $2.5 million goal and the funds raised will help provide an additional five million meals.
