Premium cooking manufacturer, Capital has been acquired by US-based appliance conglomerate, Superior Equipment Solutions (SES).
SES – established in 2001 – has brands in the commercial space including Acme and Adamation, as well as the residential space including Alfresco, Artisan and Penguin.
In 2009, Arisit was appointed the distributor of Capital, which was the only premium American grill offering in the Australian market until DCS and Wolf entered the market.
“Capital has been the go-to premium brand in Australia since the mid-200s,” Arisit managing director, Simon Taylor told Appliance Retailer.
“We can now strengthen the current grill line-up with a wealth of quality complementary products such as pizza ovens, solid fuel inserts, sear zone side burners, warming drawers and fridges.”
Capital built-in BBQ
Capital upright cookers will also be re-launched with a range that is specifically designed for the Australian market.
“The cookers will feature authentic commercial kitchen burners taken directly from the commercial line-up, electric pyrolytic ovens and multiple size options up to 60-inch, in addition to multiple hob configurations. SES has picked up the project and we are excited to be involved,” Taylor said.
SES has recently built a new office headquarters and moved to a new manufacturing facility, measuring over 9,200 square metres.
“We have invested heavily in automated equipment and design programs to enable us to compete and thrive, while manufacturing all of our products in California,” SES president, Jeff Bernstein told Appliance Retailer:
“SES has been pursuing the path of entering the indoor market for several years. The Capital acquisition is an opportunity for us to enter the indoor market and premium grill space with established lines built on the same principles as our family of products.
“We have hired a significant number of Capital employees to keep continuity of product. I am excited to work with Arisit who has supported Capital into one of the most premium and recognisable brands in the Australian grill market. I look forward to the opportunity to visit Australia and meet our retail partners.”
