Catch.com.au, in partnership with Körber Supply Chain Software, has demonstrated the transformation of its supply chain operations in its 37,000 square metre fulfillment centre in Moorebank, Sydney, which first opened in 2022.

A site tour of the new Moorebank FC revealed an array of automation and technology, including 342 AMRs, three automated packaging machines, each capable of processing over 800 parcels per hour, 5,700+ racks with 92,000 pick faces, plus ergonomically designed pick and pack areas.

The tour was attended by supply chain professionals from retail, manufacturing, and logistics sectors, to see how these technologies work in tandem with full-time and casual Catch team members.

Following the tour, attendees participated in a roundtable lunch, engaging in discussions with AMR experts from Körber and operational leaders from Catch, exploring how and why AMR technology has been fundamental to Catch’s e-commerce fulfilment operations.

The FC currently houses 917,000 units and 27,512 individual SKUs across the Catch and Kmart (Fulfilled by Catch) ranges, distributed throughout the picking grid and full case pallet racking. With a total capacity of 1.6 million units, the facility is equipped for growing consumer demand.

Since launch, Catch has achieved notable efficiency gains, including reduced inbound operating costs, enhanced inbound decant and put-away productivity, and overall improved customer service levels.

Catch.com.au senior operations manager, Glen Petrie said, “The Moorebank fulfillment facility has proven ideal for our needs, offering flexibility and scale which is crucial in the fast-paced e-commerce sector. Customers expect their goods much faster than they did before, and Körber’s AMR solution is helping us to service our customers as quickly and efficiently as possible.”

Körber Supply Chain Software managing director for Australia and New Zealand, Anthony Beavis emphasised the significance of the Moorebank facility.

“The Catch.com.au Moorebank facility demonstrates the transformative power of advanced automation in supply chain operations. It showcases how businesses can effectively meet the escalating demands of modern consumers through technological innovation. Körber is thrilled to help strengthen one of Australia’s most prominent e-commerce brands and we look forward to partnering with Catch as it continues to grow.”
