TCL debuted the X11K QD-Mini LED TV (below) at CES 2025, delivering over 14,000 local dimming zones and HDR 6,500 nits, plus TCL’s advanced all-domain Halo Control technology for a superior viewing experience and Bang & Olufsen audio.

Slated for release in the Australian market in 2025 as the C7K, TCL general manager of sales, Jason Carrick explained that this model is a deliberate step down from the TCL 115-inch X955 Max launched in 2024.

“The C7K incorporates less dimming zones and reduced brightness compared to the X955 Max but it will be positioned at a more value for money price point. We know that customers are willing to spend the money so if we can hit the right price, there’s definitely a customer base for this type of product,” he said.

“We understand that competition in the big screen TV category is fierce, but we are confident in our offering including the Google operating system with new Gemini AI, combined with new TCL Micro Optical Distance (OD) technology, which make the Mini LED experience even more exceptional.”

Reflecting on the company’s performance in 2024, Carrick said the biggest success in the TV category was the premium models.

“Many years ago, TCL was focused on the entry level market but now our step-up and premium offering is seeing customers embrace our Mini LED products. These products are available at a more value for money price point compared to our competitors and in the current economic climate, customers are looking to save a few dollars wherever they can,” he said.

“Last year, our C8 series was our most premium but most successful because customers loved the picture quality and the price point. This year, TCL is giving its customers even more. The specifications on our 2024 C7 TV series will almost double in terms of local dimming zones and peak brightness in 2025.”

At CES 2025, TCL also introduced the PlayCube Projector (above) featuring a unique Magic Cube design, which enhances portability and allows for adjustable viewing angles. It includes a built-in battery for indoor and outdoor use.

The PlayCube Projector was shown alongside the TCL Projector A1 with handle and stand for portability. It features 360 ISO lumens, 1080p Full HD resolution and screen adaptation technology. It is compatible with Google TV and delivers 16W Dolby sound.

The TCL projectors are not confirmed for launch in the Australian market.
