Australian digital telco, Circles Life has introduced Pay What You Want mobile phone plans. In a first-of-its-kind offer in Australia, Circles Life is giving customers control to choose what they pay for their monthly phone plan.
Commenting on the Pay What You Want phone plans, Circles Life head of marketing and customer experience, Genevieve Brock said, “Our industry is known for using opaque tactics such as forcing customers onto more expensive plans to get the latest handset, or ‘data rollover’ which is data you’ve paid for that you don’t need.
“We are doing the untelco thing by giving Australians a genuine choice and transforming the inflexible world of telco to a flexible one. Our Pay What You Want deals are a first in the Australian telco industry, and we are excited to bring this innovation to our customers.”
A recent survey by Circles Life revealed that over half of young Australian adults are considering switching mobile phone carriers due to cost-of-living pressures and more than one-third feel their phone bill is too high.
The Pay What You Want plans start at $5 per month for 5GB of data and go up to $45 for 110GB of data, offering a price point at every $1 increment in between. Circles has created a custom landing page to accommodate the offer which allows customers to toggle the price up or down as they like, ensuring they only pay for what they need and want.
With the average monthly cost of a mobile phone/data plan in Australia being $63, Circles Life can save customers up to $58 per month – 92% lower than the average price. Telstra users currently paying $58/month for 40GB can save $28/month with the Circles Life Pay What You Want deals and Optus customers paying $49 for 30GB can enjoy a monthly saving of $38.
The Pay What You Want plans are available to customers who sign up between now and April 30, and existing customers can also request to switch to these plans.
