A veteran of the Australian whitegoods industry, Alan Delzoppo, has joined Chinese supplier Hisense in the newly created role of national sales manager – whitegoods.
Delzoppo, who has 40 years industry experience, was most recently general manager of sales at Haier where he worked for 14 months.
Prior to Haier, Delzoppo had a brief stint at Castel Electronics after working for Email Major Appliances and later Electrolux Home Products for 38 years.
Delzoppo will be responsible for developing the Hisense range of refrigerators, air conditioners and laundry products.
Last month, Hisense held a launch event in Melbourne signaling the brand’s entrance into the Australian market.
Among its announcements, Hisense confirmed it will offer a three year in-home replacement warranty on its LCD and plasma televisions which will be serviced by a network of 3,500 AV and IT agents in metropolitan and regional areas.
The company also plans to launch refrigerators, freezers, wine coolers and air conditioners.
Early next year will see the introduction of integrated HD Flat panels with 1080p resolution and throughout 2007, Hisense Australia plans to introduce DVD recorders, hard drive products, laundry appliances, mobile phones and computer IT products.
