digiDirect has wrapped up its 18th birthday celebrations, gathering 35 team representatives at its 2023 Leaders Conference in Sydney.

Key suppliers including Fujifilm, Canon, Nikon and Sony, were present at different stages of the conference, based at digiDirect’s St Peters headquarters on 29th and 30th August 2023.

The two days began with general manager, Haig Kayserian’s review of digiDirect’s digi25 Strategic Plan at its one-year anniversary, showing progress on the four targeted pillars for growth – staff, customers, revenue and profits.

The marketing team, led by marketing coordinator Joel Westworth, took participants through key promotional activities, as well as key categories, brands and products in digiDirect stores and online.

digiDirect photo and video department manager, George Graoroski and computer, mobile, gaming and streaming department manager, George Jabbour and the wider digiDirect purchasing team reflected on the key successes of 2022 and 2023 and areas for focus for the remainder of 2023 and 2024.

Merchandising guru, Varant Jambazian was a guest speaker at the conference, focusing on visual merchandising opportunities that will form a focal point for growth in the next 12 months. The company’s top salespeople then participated in a panel discussion about the art of selling at digiDirect.

A burger and ice cream truck catered digiDirect’s lunch with Fujifilm, where the companies reflected on their joint achievements and opportunities. A continental breakfast with Nikon gave an opportunity for digiDirect’s leaders to learn more about upcoming releases and plans.

Canon and digiDirect took the show on the road, celebrating digiDirect’s 18th birthday with a night of food, drinks, fun and games at Holey Moley and Archie Brothers, while Sony hosted digiDirect at a pasta making class.

The conference wrapped up with closing remarks by founder and group managing director, Shant Kradjian and group general manager, Sina Clayton.

“35 of our people leaders, who help us manage over 150 staff, were able to spend quality time with one another and with representatives of key brands to reflect on the past financial year and take stock ahead of setting our strategic and tactical goals for the forthcoming 12 months,” Kayserian said.

“I thank our customer excellence manager, Narine Andriasian for working hard to put such a fun and fruitful program together, which has all of us motivated for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.”
