NEWCASTLE: Retravision NSW chairman, Paul Murphy, continues to be incensed over the decision by the New South Wales government to exclude areas of the state including the Hunter region from the recently implemented $150 rebate for energy efficient washing machines.
Murphy told current.com.au he met with the New South Wales Minister for the Hunter, Michael Costa, on Friday over the matter.
“Michael Costa has promised me that he will take up the matter with the managing director of the Hunter Water Corporation to see if he can shed any more light on it,” Murphy said.
“I have also spoken to the shadow minister, Mike Gallagher, about why everyone else is getting the rebate and not the Hunter and northern New South Wales. We are still at loggerheads and we will continue to lobby,” he said.
Additional letters were sent by Murphy from Retravision NSW on Friday to New South Wales Premier, Morris Iemma.
