Four Electrolux products have been added to the list of Red Dot Award winners, including the new Electrolux Ergorapido which was awarded the Red Dot: Best of the Best.
The Swedish company was awarded three Red Dot awards for excellence in product design for their UltraCaptic, UltraOne and Rapido vacuums.
In 2014, just 1.5 per cent of all 4,815 entries received the top award, including Jura’s automatic coffee machine the Impressa F8 TFT.

Professor Doctor Peter Zec, the initiator and CEO of the Red Dot Award, explains why the competition is constantly rising in significance at an international level, “The Red Dot Award: Product Design gives design professionals from all over the world a chance to measure themselves against each other. Year after year, this results in a higher level of design and also motivates the participants to enter their best products in the competition.”
The Electrolux Ergorapido 2-in-1 stick vacuum was first launched in 2004.. the cordless vacuum allowing for “instant cleaning.”
Over the last 10 years, the innovative vacuum has evolved and introduced three generations and 45 different variants to millions of homeowners all over the world. According to the brand, more than nine million units have been sold around the world to date.
The third generation Ergorapido, and Red Dot awardee, has been engineered with a new and more powerful motor fan in combination with a redesigned nozzle head that delivers better airflow efficiency.According to Noel Hsu, product marketing manager, Electrolux, this results in faster and more powerful suction that sucks up dirt, crumbs or pet hairs more effectively.
