Magellan is offering a Christmas promotion targeting two distinct types of road users: cyclists and drivers. Any new Navman SmartGPS or Magellan Cyclo 500 Series purchased by 31 January 2015 will receive a free Magellan Echo smart sports watch (RRP $149).
“With Christmas just around the corner, there is no better time to update your technology or find the perfect gift for a loved one, whether that be getting your hands on the next generation in-car GPS or a device that helps cyclists track, monitor and analyse their rides. Plus you get a bonus Magellan Echo watch, designed to help make working out with your favourite sports and fitness apps easier,” said Wendy Hammond, country director, Navman & Magellan Australia.
The Magellan Echo uses Bluetooth to connect to your smartphone and stream information from fitness apps such as distance, time, heart rate and pace in real time to your wrist. It also allows you to control you music from the watch rather than trying to access your phone during exercise.
The Magellan Cyclo 500 range of cycling computers (RRP $379 to $479) show dedicated bike tracks and have a Surprise Me feature which offers a selection of routes. Interacting with a smartphone it allows riders to control their music and receive alerts for incoming calls and view text messages.
The Navman SmartGPS is the “next generation of in-car GPS” (RRP $299). It allows you to sync and save any addresses your are searching for on your phone or computer with the SmartGPS. Or you can switch on live recommendations as you drive to find food or cheap petrol for example.
