Provides support for organisations and individuals.

The Good Guys will again be supporting local community groups and individuals across the country during its annual Doing Good Week. The initiative is an annual event that celebrates The Good Guys and the local community coming together to ‘Do Good’.

The Good Guys is now calling on Australians to nominate an individual, a local group, charity, school, sporting club or family that is making a difference in the community and is in need of a donation.

The Good Guys CEO, Michael Ford said that Doing Good Week brings the stores and their local communities together to support the organisations and individuals who need it most.

“Doing Good is an integral part of what it means to be a Good Guy, and we are passionate about working together to make a difference in our local communities,” Ford said.

Last year during The Good Guys’ inaugural Doing Good Week, the retailer engaged in close to 700 acts of ‘doing good’ across the country, and is looking to keep that momentum going this year.

“From a small raffle prize for a local fundraiser, to kitchen appliances for a school breakfast program or a fridge for a local family who just need a helping hand, we want to support those who need it most in a way that will make a difference,” Ford added.

Doing Good Week is an extension of the company’s ongoing Doing Good program, which sees over $1 million donated to more than 100 local charities, and more than $500,000 through in-kind giving each year to over 1,000 local community groups and families.

“We’re proud to be able to make such a positive impact through our Doing Good initiatives, and we know that together with local communities we can truly make a difference,” Ford concluded.

The Good Guys Doing Good Week nominations can be made via The Good Guys Facebook page, www.facebook.com/thegoodguysau, and takes place in-store and on social media from Monday 5 September to Sunday 11 September.
