The Hisense PL1 Laser TV has been recognised with carbon footprint verification from leading provider of technical services worldwide, TÜV Rheinland.
This certification was granted in accordance with the ISO 14067:2018 standard, which specifies principles, requirements and guidelines for the quantification and reporting of the carbon footprint of a product.
Sold locally in the Australian market – named the PL1H – the certification reflects Hisense’s commitment to sustainability. To support this, Hisense developed a ‘Product Carbon Footprint’ (PCF) accounting boundary that encompassed raw material acquisition and pre-treatment, product manufacturing, distribution, use, and waste recycling stages.
This was developed in accordance with the latest international carbon footprint standards, with TÜV Rheinland assisting Hisense in calculating and certifying the carbon footprint of the PL1H product throughout its entire lifecycle.
By analysing the carbon emissions during the product lifecycle, Hisense has been able to identify the high emission ‘hotspots’ throughout the production process. As a result, Hisense was able to examine the impact of each stage on the environment from the product perspective to prepare product optimisation plans more effectively, while evaluating energy management, lifecycle analysis, raw materials and supply chain management.
The PCF result of the Hisense PL1H refers to excellent quality, with all primary materials considered and calculated with ‘company-specific data’, before being individually modelled.
The PL1H is available in Australia priced at MSRP $3,299.
