Camera House national marketing manager, Kieran Gallagher said the group has observed a significant amount of change since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Camera House is a customer-centric business, so we are constantly looking for customer cues,” he told Appliance Retailer in a recent video interview.
“With travel restrictions, there has been massive change in our compact camera business and we have seen increased interest in blogging so consumers are recording memories and creating content at home with their family and enjoying isolation as much as they can,” he said.
“We are also seeing increased interest in live streaming for people trying to keep their businesses rolling so audio and lighting equipment, quality camera products, are being sold through. There are exciting changes happening in the photo industry.”
There has also been change in the way Camera House is processing orders and facing consumers with its online offering.
“We are using video streaming as part of our customer-facing proposition and modernising our ecommerce ecosystem using stores with some idle capacity as social distancing has limited dwell time in stores so we are using a ‘try and learn’ approach for a more well-rounded omni-channel experience.”
