At its press conference ahead of the official opening of IFA 2023 in Berlin, Siemens announced its new dishwashers with clearControl touch operation making program selection even easier.

On the new iQ500 studioLine dishwashers, program selection follows from left to right starting with the most used specialised programs with additional programs available via the Home Connect app.

Siemens is also improving the energy efficiency of its entire dishwasher line-up. From September 2023, two-thirds of the portfolio will have European energy efficiency class A or B and the availability of spare parts will be extended to at least 15 years.

Consumers are seeking timesaving and energy efficient dishwashers that perfectly dry the dishes and Siemens is responding to these demands by offering a range of programs from intensive to half-load, which can be combined with additional options such as varioSpeed Plus that speeds up programs by up to three times.

Siemens research found that consumers only use one or two dishwashers programs, which is why the company has simplified the user experience with clearControl touch operation.

Users are now guided step by step through program selection from left to right. On the left is basic programs including Eco, Fast or intelligentProgram, which adjusts to personal preferences through individual user feedback after washing.

Once users have selected Eco or Fast, they can adjust the intensity in the next step, depending on how soiled the dishes are. One step further to the right is where additional options and assist functions can be activated, then simply select start.

If users want a special program, they can start it via the Home Connect app or download it. This is also possible for older connected dishwashers. The Home Connect app also provides an insight into how much energy and water each program uses.
