Welcome to Influencers, our annual series that speaks with the heads of retailers, suppliers and industry bodies to find out what is happening in appliances and electronics and how different companies are shaping its future.
Daniel Bertuccio is the marketing manager at Eurolinx, distributor of the ILVE and De Dietrich appliance brands. He says 2014 is progressing well.
How has the first half of 2014 been for your business?
Actually, pretty good. Our brand strategies are really coming together and all the planets look like they will be aligning. In this tough economic market, renovations are still a focal point in many households and the prosperous real estate market is also a contributing factor.
What are your predictions for the second half of the year?
From our stand point, more of the same. I guess if I were to wish for something, it would be for a greater booming retail sector.
What opportunities do you see for the electrical retailing industry?
The push into online retailing is really taking centre stage it seems, so I guess we just need to embrace it and not discount is as a valuable business avenue. ‘Smart Technology’ looks to be a winner here.
What threats are currently present in the industry?
In our industry, there are no ‘real’ threats as people are always going to need cooking appliances. So, a threat to us would be more in the form of competitors in an already congested market. However, the strong always shine through!
What is your favourite product of 2014 so far?
In our industry, the new De Dietrich DOP1190 oven has really got this tech head fixated! I guess, in general, I’m waiting with baited breath for the new iPhone 6.
