A Vivo International plasma TV sold exclusively through Big W has been recalled. The neck in the stand on 50-inch model can break unexpectedly, “potentially crushing nearby consumers”.
This TV was sold nationally between November 2012 and March 2013.
The model number of the product is PTV50HD. The serial numbers are 22091201001-22091202000 and 2209120001-22091201000.
According to the ACCC’s Product Recalls website, consumers should act immediately to rectify the TV’s stand issues.
“Consumers should cease using the stand immediately. Consumers may return the television to Big W for a full refund or contact Vivo to have a replacement neck sent to them at no cost.”
