Kmart has entered the competitive whitegoods market with the launch of budget washing machines, dryers, fridges, and a dishwasher with prices starting from a low $249.
Available as an online exclusive range under the Anko brand, Kmart appliances come with a two-year warranty and in-home repairs if required.
A Kmart spokesperson said the new whitegoods range was seen as a gap in the market.
“We want to provide our customers with everything they need at the lowest products. The products have all received positive reception since launching with customers responding well across all categories.”
The laundry range includes 6kg and 7.5kg front load washing machines, 5.5kg and 8kg top load washing machines, and 4.5kg and 7kg vented dryers.
The 7.5kg front load washer for $439 features an LED display, 15 wash programs, delay start option, extra rinse and pre-wash functions, overheat protection and child lock provision.
The 8kg top load washer for $419 features eight wash programs, glass lid, variable water level, water blow pulsator, fast mode function and fuzzy logic memory, as well as the delay start feature, overheat protection and child lock provision.
The 7kg vented dryer for $349 comes with a wall mount kit and reversible control panel. Features include four drying programs, electronic controls, anti-crease mode, auto power off and safety thermostat heater.
The refrigeration range includes a 203-litre top mount fridge available in silver and white for $449. The fridge offers digital temperature control, internal LED lighting, recessed handle and reversible door.
The 60cm freestanding dishwasher is available in white only for $399. It delivers 12 place settings, cutlery basket, collapsible plate racks, half load program, delay start and extra drying options. It comes with a 3-star MEPS rating and 4.5-star WELS rating.
