Due to potential hazard.
Laser Corporation Holdings has voluntarily recalled its Portable DVD Player 240V Main Power Adaptor. Affected models include DVD-PT-7B, DVD-PT-9B, DVD-PT-10B, PORT7-DUALB and DVD-PT9-DUALB.
The 240V mains power adapter housing may separate if dropped, potentially exposing live circuitry and posing an electric shock hazard. Consumers should stop using the adapter immediately.
The adapter was sold nationally through major department stores, online stores and independent retailers from 1 December 2017 to 15 May 2018.
In a statement to Appliance Retailer, Laser Australia managing director, Chris Lau said, “During the course of our ongoing spot checks on our range, Laser identified a potential issue with the power adaptor and proactively contacted the relevant safety authorities.
“The main portable DVD unit is not impacted. This is a voluntary recall initiated by us to ensure our highest possible standards are maintained. It is precautionary and there have been no reported cases of any incidents. We are working with our retail partners and informing consumers to ensure these power adaptors are replaced in a timely fashion which we are facilitating directly.”
