Lively is distributed by Hills.

Silicon Valley start-up Lively has entered the Australian market through new distribution partner Hills.

Lively is a sensor-based system that monitors movement in the homes of at-risk individuals, predominantly senior citizens, with alerts on activities such as taking pills, opening the refrigerator and leaving the house pushed to Apple and Android smartphones. Furthermore, loved ones can actively monitor Lively users on their phones, tablets or desktops through apps and secure websites, so that any strange or irregular behaviour can be acted upon.

The Lively hardware is plug-and-play and comprises a base hub with cellular connectivity and six motion sensors that can be placed around the home. There is no need for Wi-Fi in the home, as the hub uses the same data technology as a smartphone to transfer information to and from the Cloud.

As part of the Lively experience, users receive regular ‘LivelyGrams’. These content rich cards, sent monthly, can be updated online by loved ones with images of family holidays, the kids’ sporting exploits or a college graduation. Because most Lively users are mature-aged, a lot of them are not as au fait with email, social media or the internet in general, meaning a tangible card populated with images is considered a real treat, according to Lively co-founder and COO David Glickman.

Sources say these LivelyGrams have proved successful in combating the push back that many loved ones experience when attempting to install motion sensor devices to essentially spy on the activity of their parents and grandparents.
