Midea has been selected as the official whitegoods partner for the Perth International Football Cup (IFC), spanning refrigeration, laundry and dishwasher categories.

For a first of its kind event in Australia, Western Australia will host four elite women’s football teams for the Perth IFC including Women’s Super League (WSL) teams Manchester City, West Ham United, and Leicester City, as well as Paris Saint-Germain from France’s Division 1 Féminine, for matches between 26 August and 1 September 2024.

As an official partner, Midea branding will feature across the stadium signage on game days with an opportunity for the brand to host local partners.

“After only arriving to the Australian market a year ago, this will be the first major event Midea is participating in and presenting to Australians since we established our local subsidiary. We’re thrilled to be part of this event, and especially excited to watch Australian players such as Mary Fowler and Alanna Kennedy playing for their international teams on home ground,” Midea Australia and New Zealand marketing manager, Christie Yuen said.

“Our sponsorship is a way to show our support for women’s football and sports events taking place in Australia. We believe women’s sports should receive the same spotlight as men’s sports and this partnership showcases our commitment to promote diversity in sports.”

Event organiser, TEG Group CEO, Geoff Jones said, “We are delighted to announce our partnership with Midea, the world’s largest producer of major appliances. The Perth International Football Cup will no doubt be one of the biggest events to take place in Western Australia, and with Midea’s support, we can guarantee to propel the event to even greater heights.”
