Miele Australia will leave the Narta retail buying group on 1 January 2025.
While both companies are offering an official “no comment”, Appliance Retailer is aware that the two businesses will part ways amicably and by mutual agreement.
It is understood the decision to leave Narta was made by Miele after a review of the duplication of processes – particularly relating to the company’s pro-forma sales operations.
Miele will develop direct relationships with Narta retail members from 1 January 2025 onwards.
Senior representatives from Miele and Narta have separately communicated to Appliance Retailer that it is currently “business as usual” and there is “no comment” to be made about the decision at this stage.
This decision follows the announcement in February this year by Miele’s head office in Gütersloh, Germany to launch a comprehensive efficiency program, following a global slump in demand for domestic appliances, as well as substantial cost increases due to inflationary pressures and higher prices for materials.
