Miele has topped Canstar Blue’s inaugural Most Satisfied Customers Award for Ovens, beating out a competitive field of 10 other brands.
Canstar Blue surveyed more than 1,200 oven-owning Australians and Miele scored five stars for overall satisfaction, closely followed by Samsung, Bosch, Electrolux, Chef, Westinghouse and Whirlpool with four stars. Fisher & Paykel, Smeg, Blanco and Euromaid were all awarded three stars.
Miele’s German design — all of its appliances are engineered and tested to the equivalent of 20 years usage — saw it score five stars in reliability, which is a key purchase consideration according to Canstar Blue research. It also secured five stars for even heat distribution, design and functionality, ease of use and, after sale service and warranties.
The other oven all stars include Samsung, which secured five stars for its design and functionality, and ease of cleaning. Electrolux, achieving five stars each for after sales service and warranties and value for money, while Westinghouse was awarded five stars for ease of use.
Canstar’s survey found that on average consumers spent $981 on a new oven and replaced them every 12 years. More than a third of respondents reported their previous model had broken down.
