Former Electrolux managing director Mike Putt and co-owner of E&S Trading Mike Sinclair have been appointed to the Narta board following its annual general meeting last week.
Narta chief executive officer, Michael Jackson, confirmed the appointments when contacted following information received by Appliance Retailer.
“Mike Putt will join the board effective from 1 January 2021 and Mike Sinclair’s appointment is effective immediately,” Jackson confirmed to Appliance Retailer.
“On behalf of Narta, we are very excited to see what Mike Sinclair will bring to the board and we feel this is a great appointment and follows in the footsteps of his father Bob who was a founding member of Narta 55 years ago.
“As an Australian director of the Electrolux Home Products business during his time as managing director, Mike Putt will also bring a wealth of experience and value to the Narta business.
“I am looking forward to making a contribution and a positive difference following my appointment to the Narta board,” Putt told Appliance Retailer when contacted.
Jackson also confirmed that former board member, Shane Leaney, has changed his role with the Narta business. The owner of VideoPro, and Narta board member since 2007, has stepped down to take a new role with Narta as director of audio and new technology.
“Shane will be working closely with myself and the Narta team on premium audio and new technology categories,” Jackson said.
Following this month’s AGM, there are eight board members – Kay Spencer as chairman, Lionel Lee (Bing Lee) as deputy chairman as well as board members Graeme Cunningham (Betta Stores), Cameron Trainor (JB Hi-Fi), John Bongard ONZM, Peter Drummond (Appliance Connexion), Mike Putt (formerly Electrolux Home Products) and Mike Sinclair (E&S Trading).
“These appointments support the continued evolution and plans for the Narta organisation. On behalf of Kay and the other board members and the Narta executive team we are excited about the future of the business.
“Narta will confirm a number of important announcements early in 2021 that will chart the course for the strategic path for the years ahead.”
