Motorola is expanding its product offering in Australia with the release of a new accessory, the moto tag.

The moto tag enables users to trace valuables on any Android smartphone that comes with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology and supports Android 9.0 and up. Along with BLE, the moto tag uses Google’s Find My Device network to provide real-time accuracy to locate the missing device anywhere around the world.

Motorola head of greater Asia Pacific, Kurt Bonnici said, “This has been a pivotal year for Motorola. We have established ourselves as a leader in market. Our extensive smartphone offering speaks for itself, we continuously put up only the finest tech, evident by the amount of awards we’ve received this year.”

“Our focus remains on bringing value through our entire portfolio by innovating to solve customer pain points. The expansion of Motorola’s ecosystem and the release of moto tag is a testament to this, being compatible with any Android device, whether a Motorola phone or not.”

The moto tag is protected by end-to-end encryption on Google’s network meaning all tracking is private. For added protection, users can run a manual scan to search for trackers near to them which can detect unwanted tracking.

The moto tag is designed to provide up to one year battery life and uses a universal, replaceable battery. The device is also IP67-rated for protection from dust, dirt and splashes.

The moto tags are available exclusively at Harvey Norman in Jade Green and Starlight Blue colours to purchase in a single pack (RRP $55) and four-pack (RRP $179).
