Myer has made 35 roles redundant across management, business support, administration and duplicate roles at its head office.
In a statement provided to Appliance Retailer, a Myer spokesperson said the announcement is part of the department store’s Customer First Plan.
“We are continually reviewing our business to ensure we are operating in the most efficient and productive way, in the best interests of our customers and shareholders, with a continued focus on improving the financial performance of the business.
“As such, we have identified opportunities across various teams to simplify structures, remove duplication and amend reporting lines. A number of management, business support, administration and duplicate roles will be leaving the business to align our structure more closely with our customers.
“We will be providing support to the team members leaving the business and we thank them for the significant contribution they have made. There will be no impact to customer service as a result of these changes, with no changes to the number of team members on the floor or service hours.”
