The colourful range of Inissia capsule coffee machines can claim one more hue: the internationally coveted Red Dot design award for product design.
The award recognises quality high-tech, everyday products and is one of the world’s largest, with thousands of entries from 53 countries. A jury of 40 international design experts took into account functionality, innovation, quality and ecological compatibility when making their decision.

John Ciaglia, commercial manager at Nespresso Australia said, “We are not only thrilled to win this prestigious award, but to also have launched an innovative new product to our highly valued and discerning customers. Its sleek design and functionality have really helped the Inissia win the hearts of premium coffee drinkers.”
Unveiled in Feburary, the new lightweight machine is targeting 25-to-35 year olds with a more compact design and RRP of $249 with advanced Nespresso technology. It comes in four permanent colours: black, white, ruby red and vanilla cream and two limited edition colours: summer sun and blue sky. These machines are available from Nespresso’s machine partners, De’Longhi and Breville.
Breville also picked up four gongs at the Red Dot Awards for the Quick Touch microwave; the Lift and Look Pro toaster; the Smart Waffle; and the Oracle automatic manual coffee machine.
