A new financial year has begun and Father’s Day is approaching, so to boost consumer awareness around this peak sales period in the male grooming category, Philips is once again running its successful Sports Dad of the Year campaign, recognising “greatness on and off the sporting field.”
Now in its sixth year, nominations are currently open for the 2014 Celebrity Philips Sports Dad of the Year award, which was won last year by retired Sydney Swans player Jude Bolton.
As well as a professional sportsman, Philips will recognise a Community Sports Dad of the Year, a competition that ran for the first time last year and is open to everyday dads who have a positive impact on their community.
“The Community Sports Dad of The Year has a great feel-good factor as it helps to generate heart-warming human-interest stories next to brand mentions in the local media for a real grass roots association,” said Tom Paltridge, senior marketing manager, Philips Consumer Lifestyle Australia.
Paltridge said the media campaigns have grown exponentially over the past few years and received extensive national, metro and local media coverage.
“Throughout the campaigns Philips’ shaving and grooming messages are communicated in all press materials helping to generate widespread awareness and new customers for the brand and its range of products,” he said.
Nominations close Monday 28 July 2014 and ten nominees will be chosen and the winner will be selected via a public vote.
