OPPO Australia has released the OPPO A80, its latest entry-level handset, built to provide endurance and longevity within a stunning design.
The new A series smartphone features a 360-degree damage-proof armour body for impact resistance, a 120Hz ultra bright display, AI LinkBoost, AI Eraser, and 5,100mAh hyper-energy battery with 45W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge.
“This year, OPPO will equip more than 50 million users’ phones with generative AI technology globally. Accelerating the adoption of AI phones, we are introducing generative AI technology to the A series for the first time,” OPPO Australia managing director, Michael Tran said.
“We are excited to bring this innovative AI technology to Australian users through our new A80 handset, making advanced technology accessible.”
OPPO A80’s 360-degree damage-proof armour body features a new reinforced internal structure and suite of drop-resistant materials like Panda Glass (twice-reinforced) for the screen cover.
For even greater protection against accidental drops, a newly designed anti-drop shield case, specifically developed for the A80, can be purchased separately. With this case, the phone can endure 450 rotations in a tumble test unscathed, demonstrating a 200% increase in protection compared to no case.
The OPPO A80 elevates the user experience through the power of AI. OPPO’s proprietary AI LinkBoost uses a system-level AI model to ensure stable connections in any location. With this, users can enjoy seamless connections when gaming or watching videos even in areas with weak signal or busy networks.
OPPO’s AI Eraser has also been introduced to the A series for the first time. Using OPPO’s generative AI model, AI Eraser can identify and remove unwanted people or objects from images and fill in the gaps to create a flawless shot.
The OPPO A80 measures 7.68mm in thickness and weighs approximately 186 grams. Featuring a premium gloss middle frame design and an angular rectangular camera decorative area on the back cover, the phone is available in Moonlight Purple and Starry Black.
A standout entertainment feature of the OPPO A80 is the new 120Hz ultra bright display. With a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits in sunlight, a typical brightness of 850 nits, and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, the 6.67-inch screen offers one of the clearest and smoothest viewing experiences on any smartphone in its price range.
The OPPO A80 is also equipped with a 5,100mAh hyper energy battery, while 45W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge means the battery can be charged to 100% in 74 minutes. Powered by the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G mobile platform delivers more power and added 5G capabilities with lower power consumption.
A 50MP AI dual camera set-up and 8MP selfie camera are supported by portrait mode, AI portrait retouching, and dual-view video to unlock extra creativity.
