Ring has announced a 2K video enhancement to its camera range, delivering its best image quality so far. 2K resolution will be available on the Floodlight Cam Wired Pro and Spotlight Cam Pro. While HD video quality ensures high resolution on previous models, 2K will offer increased sharpness and texture for more detail.
Ring’s image quality is controlled by RingVision, which combines software, hardware and internal expertise to deliver superior colour, contrast and motion smoothing. Existing customers will be able to upgrade their Floodlight Cam Wired Pro and Spotlight Cam Pro to 2K with no additional cost through the Ring app, while new models will come equipped with this improved video quality in 2025.
Ring has also announced Vehicle Detection, which alerts users when a moving vehicle comes into the field of view on selected Ring doorbells and cameras. This new feature is part of the Smart Alerts program available on a Ring Home subscription plan. Vehicle Detection is already being introduced to more than 10 Ring products, including the Floodlight Cam Wired Pro, Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera and Wired Doorbell Pro.
Ring Home has also rolled out a series of new features in Australia, including 24/7 recording, doorbell calls and video previews of a device’s motion alerts.
