When it comes to floorcare, it seems the robotic vacuum cleaner category has taken the limelight, but the Roborock Flexi Pro wet and dry vacuum proves there’s still plenty of innovation – and convenience – to benefit from in the stick vacuum segment.
While vacuuming (and mopping) isn’t the most joyous household chore – which is likely where the appeal for robot vacuums comes in – there’s something about being hands-on during the cleaning process, especially when you know the vacuum will take care of the rest once the floors are back to their shining glory.
While I’ve tried and tested a number of wet and dry robots, the Roborock Flexi Pro represents my first experience with a wet and dry stick vac and it certainly impressed.
The Roborock Flexi Pro combines vacuum and mop functions into one convenient, versatile and powerful cleaning tool with the added benefit of a self-cleaning feature.
The Flexi Pro features a sleek and modern design in a white and black finish, making it a stylish inclusion to the home that seamlessly integrates with décor. It feels sturdy, durable and well-constructed yet lightweight at around 4kg.
Its ergonomic handle and SlideTech automated wheels make it easy to manoeuvre around the home, even in tight spaces. It’s super intuitive when travelling forward and backward and reaches into edges and corners with side margins of less than 1mm. Thanks to Roborock’s FlatReach technology, it can clean mess under furniture as low as 15cm.
In vacuum only mode, the Flexi Pro boasts 17,000Pa suction power, combined with 17N pressure when mopping to ensure floors are cleaned with minimal user effort. The unit easily picks up dust, dirt, and debris from various floor types including carpets, hardwood and tiles.
One of the standout features of the Flexi Pro is the Dirtect adaptive cleaning capability. This means cleaning power is automatically adjusted according to dirt levels for a thorough and time-saving cleaning experience. This is particularly useful when transitioning from hard floors to carpets and minimises manual intervention.
With a 4,000mAh battery, the Flexi Pro delivers up to 50 minutes runtime in Eco mode (there are also Auto and Max modes). The LED screen allows you to easily monitor the cleaning mode and status with real-time updates sent to the Roborock app including operational reminders with voice alerts. There’s also a built-in headlight, which is a handy inclusion when cleaning in low lighting.
My favourite thing about the Flexi Pro is its self-cleaning function. It self-cleans at the base station with a roller scraper and water spray module that washes the rollers in two directions with 60°C hot water, followed by a drying cycle that takes as little as 30 minutes which can be activated at the press of a button after every clean.
During self-cleaning, Dirtect checks if the roller has been cleaned effectively and changes to deep clean mode if needed. The 450ml dustbin and 730ml water tank are easy to empty and refill as required.
The only minor drawback is that while the Flexi Pro operates at a relatively low noise level during use, the self-cleaning cycle can get a little loud so you may want to position it away from the main living area.
Overall, the Flexi Pro wet and dry vacuum is reliable, efficient and easy to use. It saves time by combining vacuuming and mopping capabilities into one device, complemented by self-cleaning functionality for simple maintenance.
The Roborock Flexi Pro is now available for MSRP $999.
