Samsung was host to exclusive media sessions at the newly opened Crown Sydney to present its TV and AV range for 2021, with its new Neo QLED 8K at the premium end of the line-up, delivering the best picture quality seen on a Samsung TV to date.
The flagship Neo 8K QLED range is supported by a QLED 4K line-up, entry level Crystal UHD and lifestyle TV portfolio, which includes the latest iteration of The Frame.
Neo QLED utilises a completely new light source, Quantum Mini LED, controlled by Quantum Matrix technology and powered by the Neo Quantum Processor, to deliver deeper blacks and more vibrant colours.
The picture is supported by premium sound with the Neo QLED 8K TV offering Object Tracking Sound (OTS) Pro that corresponds to object movement on the screen and SpaceFit Sound which analyses the TV’s physical environment and output to deliver sound tailored specifically to the space.
Also boasting a slim and sleek design, the Neo QLED 8K TV QN900 features Samsung’s Infinity Design, a nearly bezel-less screen and attachable Slim One Connect box to assist with cable management.
Samsung Australia head of audio visual, Hass Mahdi described Neo QLED technology as a ‘game-changer’ for big screen TVs as it reengineers how the picture comes to life.
“We know Australians are buying bigger TVs and that picture quality is the number one consideration for many customers when upgrading, Neo QLED offers incredible contrast, colour and brightness to deliver an unparalleled viewing experience,” he said.
Lifestyle TV category continues to evolve
Samsung’s lifestyle TV range sees a brand new The Frame offering new design forms and software updates with a slimmer profile, new bezel options and expanded Art Store with 1,400 pieces.
The lifestyle TV range also comprises the recently released ultra-short throw triple laser 4K smart projector, The Premiere, the Sero, the Serif and the Terrace TV designed for outdoor entertainment.
“As the lifestyles, viewing habits, and home entertainment demands of Australians evolve, so to do the features and technology across our Samsung TV lineup. With near-endless options for customisation, Samsung’s lifestyle TV portfolio continues to redefine the category, how a TV can be used and incorporated beautifully into a home,” Mahdi said.
Innovations in sustainability
Samsung’s eco packaging solution will be brought to all TV products to responsibly manage waste created from product purchases by allowing customers to repurpose TV boxes into small-scale pieces of furniture.
The sustainable packaging design extends to the solar cell-powered remote control, which is predicted to assist in preventing the wastage of around 99 million AAA batteries globally over the course of seven years of TV usage.
“We will also see the introduction of a sustainable TV remote, partially made out of recycled plastic that will charge via solar or indoor lighting to assist with reduced disposable battery waste,” Mahdi added.
