Why he’s confident about a sales spike.
Former Sony Australia MD, Carl Rose, has weighed into the debate on the sales of TVs in the lead-up to the Olympics in his new role as VP of Consumer Electronics at Samsung Australia.
In an exclusive interview with Appliance Retailer, Rose confirmed that an increase in sales should be expected.
“The scale and excitement of the Olympics often leads to a spike in TV sales as customers search for the most immersive Games experience possible,” Rose said.
“Samsung is looking forward to working closely with our retail partners to ensure Australians enjoy the next best thing to actually being in Rio.
“Whether cheering on the swim team, the Hockeyroos, or our track and field athletes, Australians will enjoy an unprecedented Olympics experience with Samsung’s SUHD panels, thanks to their market-leading picture quality and realism delivered by our Quantum dot display technology.
“Samsung’s 2016 range will offer a panel to suit almost every Olympics enthusiast, so there has never been a better time to upgrade and turn 2016’s biggest sporting event into the ultimate TV experience with Samsung.”
Carl Rose was appointed as the as the new Vice President of Consumer Electronics at Samsung Australia earlier this year after leaving Sony in 2013.
