Sony is strengthening its LinkBuds range with the introduction of the LinkBuds Fit and LinkBuds Open wireless earbuds, plus LinkBuds Speaker.

Since launch in 2022, the LinkBuds series has focused on comfort and linking the online and offline world with a unique ring design. The new LinkBuds range delivers improvements based on customer feedback to offer a seamless always-on experience, without compromising on sound.

Sony is also continuing its collaboration with singer/songwriter Olivia Rodrigo on the LinkBuds series as part of Sony’s ‘For The Music’ audio campaign, following a successful partnership on the LinkBuds S last year. The LinkBuds Fit and LinkBuds Open are available in Rodrigo’s signature violet colour.

The LinkBuds Fit features newly developed air fitting supporters and earbuds tips, as well as seamless noise and ambient sound control.

The fitting supporters incorporate a soft and hollow tail to reduce ear contact and pressure, while the point of attachment is hooked and hard to prevent accidental dislodging. The soft fitting earbud tips are included for reduced pressure and increased comfort.

Combined with noise cancelling functionality, Auto Ambient Sound mode automatically adjusts ambient sound to match surroundings to enjoy music anywhere. Equipped with the Integrated Processor V2, the same as in the award-winning WF-1000XM5, noise cancelling is optimised in real-time according to the environment.

LinkBuds Fit provides exceptional audio and call clarity thanks to a specially designed Dynamic Driver X, also in the WF-1000XM5, for richer and more detailed vocals. Precise Voice Pickup technology controls microphones on the outside and inside of the earbud, combined with advanced audio signal processing for clear conversations. LinkBuds Fit also supports High-Resolution Audio Wireless and DSEE Extreme.

Auto Switch, Auto Play and Quick Access enabled features such as Amazon Music Play Now or Spotify Tap and voice control make it easier to access and enjoy entertainment. With Wide Area Tap, use double or triple taps in front of either ear to control music playback.

Other key features include Multipoint Connection, instant play and pause, head gesture control, built-in voice control and Speak-to-Chat, in addition to a battery life of up to 21 hours and an IPX4 water resistance rating.

Available in black, white, green and violet, the LinkBuds Fit can be purchased from November 2024 for SRP $349.95.

Experience a new kind of earbud with the LinkBuds Open with an open-ring design that keeps users connected to their surroundings. The new and light fitting supporters promise all-day comfort with an evolved geometric form that fits comfortably in the ear.

LinkBuds Open feature Adaptive Volume Control, which automatically optimises volume based on the environment; lower volumes in quiet places and higher volumes in nosier places.

LinkBuds Open offers well-balanced, high-quality audio with clear mid to high ranges, powered by Sony’s Integrated Processor V2 and a specially designed 11mm ring-shaped driver unit. A high-compliance diaphragm and powerful neodymium magnet were specifically selected to reproduce clear mid and high frequency sound.

LinkBuds Open also supports DSEETM (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) and features precise voice pick up technology for ultra-clear calls. Other features include Auto Switch, Auto Play, Quick Access, Multipoint Connection, Wide Area Tap and voice control, in addition to a battery life of up to 22 hours and an IPX4 water resistance rating.

Available in black, white and violet, the LinkBuds Open can be purchased from November 2024 for SRP $349.95.

LinkBuds Fit and LinkBuds Open are compatible with the renewed Sound Connect app to personalise earbud settings such as the equalizer and keep track of listening history in line with World Health Organisation (WHO) healthy listening habits.

The LinkBuds Speaker delivers well-balanced sound quality with an X- Balanced Speaker Unit, a tweeter and passive radiators. Boasting a battery life up to 25 hours, IPX4 water resistance rating and carry strap, enjoy the freedom of mobility, plus a dedicated charging cradle for convenient charging.

Auto Switch swaps playback between LinkBuds earbuds and LinkBuds Speaker automatically, while Quick Access allows users to enjoy one touch listening and Auto Play plays music according to the user’s routine.

The LinkBuds Speaker promises best-in-class call quality of any Sony wireless speaker, articulating speech for a clear conversation and using echo cancellation to ensure conversations flow smoothly. The LinkBuds Speaker is also compatible with the Sound Connect app.

Available in black and light grey, the LinkBuds Speaker can be purchased from October 2024 for SRP $299.
