The Appliance Girls’ Cassandra Josipovic and Rachel Elkadi held their first ‘Empower Event’ in Sydney’s Drummoyne last week; an intimate evening dedicated to celebrating and empowering women in the appliance industry with the opportunity to network with, and learn from, one another.

There were 35 guests in attendance representing appliance brands including Artusi, Arisit, Glen Dimplex, Harvey Norman, Leading Edge Appliances, LG, Residentia Group, Rinnai, The Appliance Guys and Versuni.

Designed to build a strong community of like-minded women, foster connections, and inspire attendees to pursue their ambitions with confidence, career and mindset coach, Amie Duignan delivered a speech about empowerment and having the audacity to chase your dreams.

This was followed by a ‘hot seat’ panel session with Appliance Retailer editor, Emily Bencic and Leading Edge Retail general manager of memberships, Leah McCarthy, who shared their experiences and insights on navigating and thriving in the appliance industry. Leading Edge was the event’s major sponsor, supporting the mission of empowering women.

Guests enjoyed an exceptional culinary experience and live music by the talented Danie Haklane, creating an uplifting and welcoming ambiance. There were also lucky door prizes contributed by bosswoman sponsors including Qure, Sephora Collection, Rachel Beth Jewellery, Kosi and Kit Promo Merch.

“A resounding success, the event demonstrated the potential for ongoing initiatives to unite and uplift women in the appliance industry. The first of many planned events, it sets the tone for a movement dedicated to championing women’s leadership, innovation, and resilience in the workforce,” Josipovic and Elkadi said.
