Uniden has a range of technology solutions including handheld UHF radios, in-car dash cams and a car jump start kit, for Australian consumers embracing regional travel with restrictions eased in New South Wales.
“While air travel and interstate holidays are still looking limited for the months ahead, it’s being reported that interest in regional travel is on the rise,” Uniden Australia marketing and communications manager, Brad Hales said.
“Tourism Australia’s ‘Holiday Here This Year’ campaign is also driving awareness of more local destinations, which means more road trips, camping and outdoor adventure getaways. Most of us have been staying close to home for the last two months, so more families are keen to get out and about in their vehicles. Gearing up for a road trip will mean more interest in a range of technology categories, including dash cams, UHF radios and other accessories that make for a smoother and more enjoyable time away,” he added.
Handheld UHF radios
Retailers should be prepared for growth in demand for these products, including the Uniden’s recently released handheld UHF radios UH600 series offering high grade performance in a lightweight, compact design, available in 1-watt, 1.5-watt and 2-watt variations for extended range.
The UH620 series can communicate up to a 13km plus range allowing users to stay connected in the most remote locations. The radio also features an in-built LED light providing added safety and convenience. With clear, uninterrupted transmission from 80 UHF channels, the radios enable up to 20 hours of talk time before recharging via the micro-USB port using the included rechargeable batteries. RRP for the UH620 radio single pack is $79.95 and $179.95 for the UH620-2DLX radio twin pack.
Jump start kit
The Uniden UPP1000 jump start kit provides portable power and roadside assistance, with enough power to start a petrol four-wheel drive up to seven litres and diesel vehicles up to five litres thanks to a large start current (500A) and peak current (1000A).
The jump start kit also includes smart clamp protection ensuring the vehicle’s battery doesn’t overload when charging. The unit can additionally be used as a portable powerbank to charge smartphones, tablets and other USB electronic devices. RRP is $199.95.
Dash cams
Built using Japanese engineering technology and designed for Australian road conditions, the Uniden Dash View 30 is positioned discreetly without intruding on the windscreen.
The dash cams feature a 2.5K video resolution front camera with 140-degree wide angle lens. Additional features include safety speed/red light camera warnings, kept up to date by Uniden’s support team, voice guidance control using the Smart One Touch function, and inbuilt GPS and Dual Band Wi-Fi for fast data transfer functionality to Android and iOS smartphone devices via the DashView App. RRP for the Dash View 30 is $399.95, including a 32GB MLC High Endurance micro SD card and hard wire kit.
