To enable voice control.
Uniden security camera footage can now be viewed using voice-control with a recent update that integrates with Google Assistant to work with products such as Google Home, Chromecast, Android phones, iPhones and many other devices using a local Wi-Fi network.
Users can ask Google to stream video from a security camera directly to a smart display or TV, using Chromecast built-in or a Chromecast dongle.
“The increasing demand for voice control enabled products is on the rise. Uniden wants to offer consumers the ability to manage their home security cameras using voice control while integrating with other products around the home,” Uniden national marketing and communications manager, Brad Hales said.
“Integrating the Uniden security range with the Google Assistant will keep our products competitive within the surveillance category and provides consumers with more flexibility when viewing footage around the home.”
Google Assistant can be used to view footage on a range of Uniden security cameras, allowing users to keep watch on the home with ease – just say “Hey Google, stream the garage on the TV.” Uniden security cameras can also be integrated with a range of other smart home products which are compatible with Google Assistant including smart lights, air conditioning and AV setups.
Footage can be viewed and accessed from anywhere in the world via the dedicated Uniden app. Footage can be stored directly on SD card or hard drive, as well as the Uniden Cloud.
Google Assistant is now available on Uniden App Cam 55, App Cam 56, XLIGHT and GXVR models and will be available in other Uniden security products over the coming months.
