The BlendJet2 portable blender with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery has been recalled due to risk of overheating and fire when charging or while in use if the metal blades break, with injuries and property damage already occurring.
There is risk of serious injury from choking or lacerations if broken blade pieces become mixed with food or drinks and consumed. There is also risk of serious burn injuries or property damage if the blender overheats or short circuits and catches fire.
Consumers should stop using the blender immediately and user the serial number checking tool at snlookup.blendjet.com to see if their unit is affected. Products with serial numbers in the following range may be affected: 5201000000 to 5542999999.
The BlendJet2 portable blender was available for sale between 1 October 2020 and 1 November 2023 via retailers including Bi-Rite, Costco, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Kitchen Warehouse, Myer and The Good Guys.
