BERLIN, GERMANY: The largest consumer electronics trade fair in the world, Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) has recorded attendance of over 100,000 in the first three days of its 2007 event.
A total of 1,212 exhibitors from 32 countries are displaying a wide and varied range of new products and highlights at the IFA 2007.
The key themes at this year’s event include the continuation of the full high definition theme across visual categories such as flat panel television as well as optical categories such as digital camcorder and digital still cameras.
This, the 47th IFA, is the second time the event has run annually after previously operating only every two years at the Messe Berlin exhibition grounds.
“The IFA has now become the leading trade show for the CE industry,” said chairman of the Consumer Electronics trade association, Hans-Joachim Kamp.
“This is reflected not only by the number of exhibitors, which breaks all existing records, but equally by the rented display area of some 104,000 square metres, and the expected volume of orders totaling around 2.6 billion Euros.”
“Judging by the reaction of trade visitors to the products from the consumer electronics industry exhibitors can confidently expect full order books,” said Messe Berlin chief operating officer, Dr. Christian Göke.
