US retail giant, Williams-Sonoma has taken a direct lease for warehousing and distribution operations in Australia for the first time since entering the market in 2013.
Located in The Horsley Park Estate in Sydney’s west, the seven-year lease comprises a 16,755 square metre warehouse, 640 square metre office and 67 car spaces, with completion slated for mid-2021.
The bespoke logistics facility will be designed to achieve a 5 Star Green Star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia and will obtain carbon neutral certification of built form works, incorporating a solar PV system that uses battery storage and bio-diesel back up generation.
Other features include a dedicated truck loading and car park areas, a minimum building height of 11.5 metres and a 34-metre wide loading area.
The Horsley Park Estate is located within the industrial areas of Horsley Park and Eastern Creek. It has heavy vehicle access to both the M4 and M7 motorways via Old Wallgrove Road.
Frasers Property Industrial secured the lease with general manager for the northern region, Ian Barter saying that western Sydney continues to attract major national and international retail brands.
“The growth of organisations such as Williams-Sonoma will see the region expand rapidly and underpin the creation of thousands of construction and operational jobs over the next 10 years.”
