Yamaha is releasing its first open-type true wireless earbuds, the TW-EF3A, with a light and comfortable fit, excellent sound quality, and extensive functionality.
In addition to Yamaha True Sound, the TW-EF3A are the company’s first earbuds with Clear Voice – found in Yamaha AV receivers and soundbars – which lifts voice bandwidth for users to hear the voice range of content more clearly. There’s also a low-latency mode for gaming and video content viewing and multipoint function to connect two devices simultaneously.
The open-ear type earbuds are designed to nest in the outer ear without silicon ear tips. They do not seal the ear canal itself, so users are less likely to feel a sense of being sealed off from their surroundings when wearing the device. The control buttons on the stick have been tested for comfort and pressure on the ear during operation.
Three acoustic ports inside each earbud adjust the amount of air inside, allowing users to enjoy clear and crisp vocals. The 13mm driver unit has a wide diaphragm area to move a large amount of air, allowing the air inside the enclosure to vibrate to its fullest extent. The driver unit can reproduce low frequencies and the driver diaphragm is made of titanium plating with an additional dent in the centre to accurately reproduce high frequencies.
A trademark of Yamaha headphones, the Listening Care feature compensates for high and low frequencies that are difficult to hear at low volume levels and maintains the original sound range of the music at this level.
The TW-EF3A microphone is mounted on the tip of the stick, at a distance from the control buttons, making it easier to pick up the speaker’s voice, while reducing button pressing noise. A cutout around the microphone prevents wind from entering, reducing noise when speaking.
The earbuds will be available in February 2024 for RRP $99 with black, grey, pink and green colour options.
